Definition of E-Commerce

E-Commerce is electronic commerce, which means selling as well as buying goods via the Internet. It can take the form of business-to-cosumer (B2C), business-to-business (B2B), cosumer-to-cosumer or even cosumer-to-business. Its purpose is to simplify the execution of the transaction to a minimum, so a deal can be done anywhere and at any time. Good e-commerce platforms are characterized by, for example; Flexibility, meaning the ability to sell B2B and B2C on one platform. Ease of use, which means that the platform is easy to navigate for the consumer, but also simple to manage for the entrepreneur. Security, i.e. providing the latest comprehensive security features (Lutkevich, 2023).
