Website Comparison

In this post I would like to compare two e-commerce sites with each other, one is the very well-known giant ebay and the other is the much smaller clothing brand One Choice. The first thing that catches the eye is the assortment that is sold on both platforms, one selling a variety of items from computers to cars; the other selling clothing. It is important to note the differences in the type of sites, one is a B2C e-commerce site, while the other is termed C2C. Thanks to this difference we will be able to see that ebay is not only aimed at buyers, but also includes a section for sellers. Since ebay includes a wide range of products on its site, it has a search bar in the middle. It can be assumed that a person who enters ebay has a specific goal, namely the item he wants to purchase. On One Choice things look different there is a small magnifying glass icon that is located at the top left, but I assume that it is much less frequently used than on ebay. This is because this site is more likely to have consumers browsing for bargains or new products in stock. On both pages you can create an account, and on the right side at the top there is a shopping cart icon. One Choice has a huge banner screaming about sales. Ebay also has a banner in the middle of the page, a little smaller more toned down. However, both sites are similar in some aspects as I mentioned earlier you can create an account and make purchases on both. But that's not all, both have categories you can look into, in fact in the same place. When comparing the two, there are still many similarities, meaning there is a certain pattern that developers follow to make it easier for the consumer to navigate the site.
